About Ram

Ram was born and brought up in Barmer, a small city located in the Great Indian Desert in the north-western part of India.

During his Masters(Chemistry)'s degree , Ram was exposed to research. Since then the research journey is continuing with two stoppages at NCL (for Ph.D. with Dr. Kadhiravan Shanmuganathan) and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (for postdoc with Prof. Lars Berglund).

Education

Ph.D. (Polymer Science and Engineering) from the Academy of Scientific and Industrial Research and CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, India.

Thesis title: Nanocellulose Reinforced Polymer Composites for Energy Applications.

Advisor: Dr. Kadhiravan Shanmuganathan.

"Microscope - to look beyond the human vision."

Ram's Research

Ram is fascinated by polymer composites and functional materials for energy application. His previous experiences involve working on polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cells, and energy harvesting and sensing based on piezoelectric, triboelectric, and hydrovoltaic effects. In the AEK lab, he wishes to explore another paradigm of piezoelectric particles for driving the polymerization reactions to make new functional adaptive materials.
